Did you know…the 1st women’s golf tournament was held in 1811 at Musselburgh Golf Club in Scotland? Yes, women played golf before 1811 but this was the first organized tournament. Guess what 1st prize was? A fishing basket!

Did you know…the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) was founded in 1950. The founding members were/are Marilynn Smith, Babe Zaharias, Shirley Spork, Sally Sessions, Helen Hicks, Opal Hill, Alice Bauer, Patty Berg, Bettye Danoff, Helen Dettweiler, Marlene Hagge, Betty Jameson, and Louise Suggs.
